Zane Morse Townsville Wrap Up

I’m super pleased with my weekend in Townsville. I feel like we were able to stay out of the hustle and bustle and show true speed. Friday’s first practice session, I had spongy brakes so had to manage those and came away with 15th. The second session was a lot better, it started off wet but started to dry. I was battling for top position for most of the session, but in the end finished 4th, which I was happy with.

Saturday was a mega day, with hopes to qualify well; I did just that and put myself in 9th ahead of the first race. Come the 9-lap race, I just couldn’t break through the pack and came away with 13th. I had a mega race 2 and brought it home in 8th, however I was given a 30-sec penalty due to an incident with a yellow flag where another car passed me, I re addressed but was still issued the penalty.

Unfortunately, that meant that I was starting Sunday’s race from the back of the pack in 23rd. Thankfully, I was able to fight my way through the field and finished up 14th, which I was pretty pleased with.

A huge thanks to the crew for a mega car and also to my sponsors and supporters! I wouldn’t be here without you all.

Also, a massive thanks to Brema Group; Mark & Gerard for driving the truck up and back, I’m very grateful for your help!

Next stop, Bathurst October 10-13!
