Change of category for Morse in 2020

After an announcement was made back in September this year that ex Toyota 86 Series competitor Zane Morse was taking the leap into the Kuhmo Series, the 20-year old has decided to instead take on the Dunlop Super2 Series for the 2020 season.

Morse recently purchased a VF Commodore from the retired Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport squad only a couple of months after announcing that he was set to take on the Kuhmo Series.

“We saw the VF Commodore come up for sale and Dad and I had a chat and admittedly, the deal was too good to be true,” admitted Morse.

“Obviously we had already made plans to run in the Super3 Series, but when this came up we kind of thought, why not take the leap. The car was there, all ready to go and obviously set-up ready for this category so we decided to go down this path instead.”

The ex-LDM chassis was driven by Dean Fiore (2013), Nick Percat and Tim Blanchard (2015), Andre Heimgartner (2016), Alex Davison, Taz Douglas, Matt Brabham and Aaron Russell (2017) and Matt Chahda in the DVS Series (2018).

The car will be prepped and ran in-house by the Morse family and long-time supporter, Brema Group will continue their backing into the 2020 season; featuring across the side panels.

“I can’t thank Mark Siracusa and Brema Group enough for their support. They’ve been long-time followers and it means a lot to have a loyal sponsor continue back me,” said the 20-year old.

2020 will mark the 20th Anniversary for The Dunlop Super2 Series and is the second tier to the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship. The Super2 Series will race as the support category to the Supercars in 6 out of the 14 scheduled races including; Adelaide, Tasmania, Townsville, Sydney, Bathurst and Sandown.

“I’m really excited to be running in the Super2 Series next year. To make that jump, I suppose I’m a little nervous but also really looking forward to it,” said the Canberra local.

“There’s plenty of big names in the Dunlop Series, it’ll be a great learning curve and I’m certainly up for it.”

The Dunlop Super2 Series hit the track for the first round at the Superloop Adelaide 500, February 20-23.
